The Booking Process: Step-by-step
So you’ve decided you want something unique and memorable for your wedding day and you’ve found a live wedding painter that you love. Fantastic! It’s so fun to look at all of their past work and dream about what your own painting could look like. Having a live wedding painter capture your love story through a handful of colors and brushstrokes is the perfect way to bring all those memories back to display them in your home.
When a couple is interested in booking me as their live wedding painter, I like to keep it simple and stress free. The first step in the booking process is to fill out the inquiry form under the “Weddings: Live Wedding Painting” tab on my website. Here, my clients can find a bit more of helpful information like how I set up on their wedding day and answers to frequently asked questions. Once they have filled out a formal request on my inquiry form, clients will be sent a proposal that has been edited to their specific needs. In this proposal, brides and grooms will find a more detailed breakdown of the services I offer and my packages according to their canvas size and price. The cost to book me as a live wedding painter begins at $1,200 but can vary depending on canvas size selected or additional “add ons” requested by the bride and groom.
Once the couple has had a chance to look over their proposal, we will set up a quick 15 to 20 minute discovery call to discuss what package they would like as well as nail down a few logistics about their wedding day and a few dreams they have regarding their painting. This discovery call is important for both the client and I to gain trust and a good relationship with one another. I love getting to know my clients and this call really allows us to dive into what’s important to them on such a memorable day.
After the call is complete, a detailed document is sent over to the client via email to confirm everything that was discussed. The contract and invoice come next! This step makes all the plans concrete. After the contract is signed, the couple will receive an invoice to pay a $200 retainer fee that saves their date on my calendar.
The last step before the big day is when we fast forward to one month before the wedding! The remaining payment is made and a confirmation call is set up to solidify every little detail of the wedding day, painting, and plan to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. This call is so fun because we really break down the vision for the painting!
Suddenly, the wedding day is here!! All the plans have been made and the magic begins to happen. Booking a live wedding painter doesn’t have to be complicated! It does require a few calls and a bit of emailing, but if you’re willing to sacrafice that smidgen of time for a gorgeous painting that will last a life time, it’s totally worth it!
